Where We Donate

Monies raised by Friends Fighting Breast Cancer are directed to breast cancer research and care initiatives at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. Our gifts are considered unrestricted so that Cancer Center leadership – including some of the world’s leading breast cancer physician-scientists – can use the money to support the breast cancer program’s most urgent needs, whether that is laboratory research to discover new genetic targets within tumors, a clinical trial of a newly discovered targeted drug, or a genetic study aimed at prevention and early diagnosis.  This unrestricted giving provides Mass General the financial freedom and flexibility to pursue entrepreneurial research, paving the way to ground-breaking discoveries.

The Mass General Cancer Center’s commitment to eradicating cancer is fueled by scientific investigation conducted as part of the largest hospital-based research program in the United States.  Mass General has not only stayed at the forefront of advances in medical knowledge, technology and research, but has taken the lead in many of these innovations.  For example, the Cancer Center is a pioneer in targeted therapies, particularly for breast cancers. Our continued support of these research initiatives is critical to one day finding the cause and the cure for breast cancer.
